A Roman bridge in remarkable condition stands alone and lonely among the oaks not ten minutes away from the castle. Thousands of people drive by the road that leads to Uzes, not knowing they have just passed a jewel of Roman antiquity.
The bridge, which was part of the Pont du Gard aqueduct ensemble, is highlighted by deep grooves that have been worn into the stone by the heavily-laden carts that passed over this bridge throughout the centuries.
