Sending your ten-year-old son to buy the morning bread will invariably result in the baguette (his preferred choice of bread) returning in the condition pictured above. It seems to be axiomatic in France that the knobby end belongs to the children. The bread is really that good here,  that varied, and surprisingly inexpensive.
